Well today, (Dec. 28th) twenty one years ago was the day of Scott's and my first date. We were both 17 years old. We went out for dinner and a movie. The movie we saw was Princess Bride. Most every year on Dec. 28th we've re-watched that movie. Our kids even know that this is our "date movie". After lunch today we all sat down and watched this as a family. Our family doesn't have many traditions but this is one that we make sure to carry on with. It's fun to think back all those years ago. We were officially engaged on Dec 28th the following year. I am so grateful to have found such a young boy with so much potential. Who knew how wonderful he would have turned out to be? I didn't realize his potential at such a naive age. This is one of the biggest blessings that I recognize came from my Heavenly Father. Looking back... we were both so young but over the months knew what we wanted. I got more than I bargained for. It has been better than I had ever dreamed possible. I told Scott that I Loved him so much that I would even live with him in a cardboard box if that was all we could afford. I just wanted to be married to him. Scott has reminded me of this "Cardboard" statement when I have complained about situations in past years. I am so proud of him and all of his accomplishments. I am grateful to his parents for teaching him values and the importance of honesty. I look forward to celebrating our 20th year of marriage on July 28th of this New Year. I know...28th this , 28th that. We wanted to be consistent! Happy Anniversary Hhhsconey! I love you!

I love your 80's wedding invitation-it's Awesome! You should see mine---you will laugh for day's. It's funny because our first date was on the 27th of December-we didn't stay with the
27th date though. The movie we saw was "Dances with Wolves" I can't imagine pulling that movie out every year and watching it. It's a good thing your movie is a good one that the whole family can enjoy.
Cute tradition! Love that hair Barbara.
Our first date movie was ET - years later we thought we'd watch it with the kids, we'd forgotten about the language! Yikes! So, you made a good choice for your first date movie a cult classic at that! Congrats!
I would just like to let the record show that David and I were 9 yrs old when you two were on that first date of yours! Good times!....And i cracked up when you mentioned the word bargain! You got more than you "bargained" for....its just in you to get a good deal! Miss you guys! Glad to see all is well. Take care.
This is sweet Barb! I'm about ready to launch my blog...hopefully tomorrow on my Birthday.
